Lechuza Basicpon

Tender plants, sensitive cuttings and fresh offshoots need a very special substrate to develop optimally. The purely mineral plant substrate BASICPON is particularly suitable for this due to its unfertilized composition, as it enables fertilization as required. The peat-free plant substrate is volume-stable and gives the delicate roots sufficient support in the planter. The zeolite permanently stabilizes the optimal pH value, which is particularly important for sensitive plants. Thanks to its ability to store water, it naturally regulates the water supply to the plant. Waterlogging, which often leads to root rot, is avoided by the high drainage ability of pumice and lava.

In addition, BASICPON plant substrate does not provide a breeding ground for pests such as fungus gnats due to its purely mineral composition. This means that it does not need to be replaced even after several years and can be used again and again. This also makes it allergy-friendly . BASICPON can be used as a sole substrate or added to conventional plant soil.

Planting instructions

Step 1:

Add the LECHUZA-PON plant substrate (included with the pots) as a drainage layer on the separating base in the pot. This is important so the water can be transported from the reservoir to the plant.
Then pour a thin layer of the desired substrate into the container. Just enough to give your plant the right height in the container.

Step 2:

Place the plant in your planter. The roots do not need to be completely removed from the soil.

Step 3:

Fill the container completely with the substrate of your choice, e.g. using the PON shovel.

Step 4:

For the first 12 weeks, water your plant as usual from above, directly onto the substrate. Only water as much as the plant can absorb. Make sure that there is as little water as possible in the reservoir.
